BIS was created by this music-lover for other music-lovers who, besides the core repertoire, wish also to explore music that they didn’t even know existed and to enjoy it in quality recordings. BIS is the only sizeable record label with a no-deletion policy – all the music we have recorded is kept available in our own warehouse. BIS is also the world's largest producer of Super Audio CDs
(SACDs, offering high resolution and surround possibilities), with 400+ titles currently (2016) available and some 50 new recordings added yearly. (Our SACDs are so-called ‘hybrids’, meaning that they can also be enjoyed on regular CD players.)
Starting out in 1973, BIS is one of the oldest labels still led by its founder. During that time the landscape in which we operate has changed drastically, in terms of technical developments but also in regards to how recordings are being sold. For most of us, the days when you could walk into your local friendly record store are regrettably past. In opening our own online store, we have no wish to further undermine the situation for existing shops. In the current situation, however, we feel that there is no other way to make sure that you, our customers, are able to find physical copies of our recordings if you cannot get hold of them locally. Terms and Conditions for the BIS online store
1. Ordering rules
1.1. Orders may be placed by private individuals only, and not by commercial organisations or individuals operating as a business.N.B. For the time being it is necessary to create a user account in order to shop at the BIS online store.
1.2. By ordering on bis.se, you warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and competent to enter into a legally binding agreement.
1.3. Orders placed on bis.se are handled by our daughter company eClassical AB, which has a well-established and secure online payment system. So, although you order BIS products, your actual transaction is with eClassical AB
. Your credit card statement will also reflect this, showing ‘eClassical AB’ for orders from the BIS online store.
1.4. We reserve the rights not to sell to certain countries or individuals, in which case any money paid in advance will be refunded. 2. Prices
All prices on bis.se are listed in euros (€) only, include VAT (if applicable) but do not include shipping charges. Shipping charges (typically starting at 5 €) will be shown on the check-out page (and any subsequent receipts / invoices). 3. Availability
As a rule we have all BIS products in stock, and are therefore able to pack and ship your order within 1-2 working days. In the rare case that an item is out of stock, you will be promptly contacted via e-mail with an estimated date of delivery. 4. Ordering and shipping process
4.1. The order is placed by you in the bis.se online store. You pay with VISA/Mastercard (our preferred method) or PayPal. By doing so, you enter into a legal and binding agreement of purchase. Make sure to provide a valid postal address on our check-out page (PayPal address data is not taken into account).
4.2. A receipt is e-mailed to you after completed payment. When we start handling and shipping the order, an invoice is created and e-mailed (as a .pdf) to you. A print-out of the invoice, specifying VAT (if any) will also be enclosed with the shipment.
4.3. Once your order is packed, we ship it, using the first class mail service of the Swedish Post, or, if the order is large, UPS. Packages are shipped out daily Monday through Friday.5. Returns
Within 14 days from delivery, returns are accepted for exchange only (not reimbursement), and only in the case of faulty items or damages incurred during transit. In case of returns, you will be responsible for the return shipping. Furthermore, to avoid the risk of further damage and to save postage either way, please return only the damaged component(s), e.g. one faulty CD from a boxed set.
If a disc doesn’t play on your player, please try another player first before returning it. When making the return, please state your order number (7 digits) and the exact cause of complaint (e.g. ‘the CD skips track 8 after 42 seconds’). We will check the component and exchange it if the complaint can be confirmed by us. Please direct returns to eClassical AB
, marking the package ‘return’. Don't forget to include your own postal address! 6. Customs and customs charges
7.1. BIS and eClassical will not share your personal contact details with anyone else. Data such as name, (e-mail) address and phone number, is only used to handle and ship your orders. If you have subscribed to the BIS newsletter
, we will of course use your e-mail address to ensure that you receive it.
7.2. On bis.se, you may also create a user account
. This will save your contact data in our system, thus simplifying future orders. When logged in, you can review and edit this data on ‘My pages’
. You will also be able to see your order history, check the status of orders you have placed, and save a ‘shopping list’ from your shopping cart.

Nobody at BIS or eClassical ever gains access to confidential payment details such as your credit card number, its expiration date or CVV code. This data is directly processed by our payment provider DIBS
, transferred on heavily encrypted connections and stored in a safe way on secure servers.
