The Grammy Award-winning Paavo Järvi has been music director of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra since 2006, appearing with the orchestra across Europe, China, Japan and Korea, as well as many of the major European festivals such as the Rheingau Musik Festival and BBC Proms. Järvi is also music director of the Orchestre de Paris and artistic director of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. As a guest conductor he performs with orchestras such as the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic Orchestras, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Russian National Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Philharmonia Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra and Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Since the start of his career, Järvi’s priority has been to champion works by Estonian composers including Arvo Pärt, Lepo Sumera and Eduard Tubin. He is also artistic advisor to the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Pärnu Festival and Järvi Academy. In November 2012, Järvi was awarded the international Paul Hindemith Prize of the City of Hanau for his support of Hindemith’s works.
