Since it was formed in 2007, the Sitkovetsky Trio has emerged as one of the outstanding trios of today, receiving numerous awards and critical acclaim.
The Sitkovetsky Trio has performed in the leading concert halls across Europe, including the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Alte Oper in Frankfurt, Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Sociedad Filarmónica in Bilbao, L’Auditori Barcelona, St George’s Bristol, the Purcell Rooms and the Wigmore Hall in London. The Trio has also appeared at major European Festivals including the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad and the Bergen International Festival and has toured Asia, Australia, the USA and Latin America. The Trio’s first two recordings for BIS Records, of works by Dvořák, Smetana and Suk and of Mendelssohn’s Piano Trios, were released to great critical praise.
The Trio has premièred new works by Carl Vine and Charlotte Bray and has strong links to other contemporary composers such as Dobrinka Tabakova and Erkki-Sven Tüür.
From 2012 until 2014 the Trio held a Fellowship at the Royal Northern College of Music, having previously held fellowships at Trinity Laban College of Music from 2007–10. It has also been a recipient of the International Schumann Chamber Music Award (2008) and the NORDMETALL Chamber Music Award at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival (2009).
